Texture of Sound: where matter meets acoustic vibration

What shape does sound take when it meets the surface of a fabric? And in what way can a weave amplify or welcome an acoustic frequency?

In Trilogy Textile’s research journey, matter has never been a static element, but a living language capable of interacting with the sensory perception of those who inhabit a space. From October 13 to 18, 2026, in Milan, this dialogue crosses a new boundary with the installation Texture of Sound, curated by the Barbieri Magalini studio at Spazio MM in Via Maroncelli 3.

The interplay between weave and frequency

We are used to experiencing interior design and the textile world through sight and touch. However, matter possesses its own acoustic density: it absorbs, reflects, and resonates with the vibrations of the surrounding environment.

Texture of Sound stems from the intention to explore precisely this boundary territory, creating a suspended dimension in which the visual and tactile perception of surfaces merges with the sound dimension. A project designed to invite architects, designers, and enthusiasts to slow down the pace of daily fruition, rediscovering the value of contact, softness, and comfort through an unprecedented experience of listening and perception.

The sound experience of Gong Master Marco Piron

Accompanying this sensory immersion will be the acoustic frequencies and sound experience guided by Gong Master Marco Piron. The vibrations produced by the gongs and ancestral instruments will interact with the three-dimensionality of Trilogy fabrics, creating a subtle correspondence between the grain of the yarns, the thickness of the weaves, and the sound waves passing through the space.

Surfaces are no longer merely coverings for furniture or acoustic insulation, but become an emotional sounding board, capable of welcoming the guest and guiding them toward a new awareness of contemporary comfort.

An appointment with sensory design in Milan

The installation is part of Trilogy Textile’s vision aimed at promoting a design culture that goes beyond pure aesthetics to focus on the deep well-being of the individual.

The Texture of Sound installation will be open to the public from October 13 to 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at Spazio MM (Via Maroncelli 3, Milan).

An opportunity to experience our collections firsthand and be enveloped by an experience in which matter, sound, and architecture find a perfect point of balance.
